Jeff’s Story - Low Back pain
Before Align
I took a vacation to a really nice Caribbean island, beautiful beach, and we're going to walk up and down the beach every day. I started having some lower back pain. I got to where I could go maybe 100 yards and had to sit down.
I've never been limited by anything, really, in my life. I've always done my own landscaping, and I love to do woodworking in my shop. And all of a sudden, those things were causing me immense pain. It was kind of a kind of a rude awakening.
Coming to Align
My first experience with Align was when we made an appointment with Matthew. Towards the end of that session, he took his little tablet and he took a picture of me from the side. I would have bet you any amount of money that I was standing straight up. When I looked at that picture, it was like this (bent over). My next reaction was, when do we start? There was just no way I was going to be like that the rest of my life.
When you start at Align, you do a lot of really gentle things. This doesn't seem like any of this stuff is really serious exercises. But there's a plan. Everything was personalized. Everything was about me and my pain.
Life Now
Now I can go travel. I know that if I have pain, then I have something that I can do about it. So I don't worry about it. I just go.
Last fall, my wife and I went to Florida. Once a day, sometimes twice a day, we walked a mile up the beach and a mile back and without an ounce of pain at all. When I connect that back to where the journey started, from walking on the beach in the Caribbean, to walking on the beach in Florida, it was like night and day.
When I started this process eight and a half years ago, I was trying to find the solution. And I didn't want to go through the rest of my life going back to the chiropractor every couple of weeks. That was always just fixing the symptoms. It wasn't fixing the problem. I just felt like there had to be a better solution. And there is. I feel like Align really was the solution for me.
