Georgia's Story - Piformis & Hip Pain Journey

Georgia, client of Align Pain & Performance in Redding, CA

When the Pain Started

It was miserable! In the spring of 2017, I was 76 and started having back pain. My doctor thought it was a sciatic nerve issue, but after three visits I was sent to a specialist and discovered it was actually the Piriformis muscle. Pain consumed my whole body. I couldn’t think. I was late in paying bills and completely stopped socializing.

My doctor gave me a pain relief injection that only lasted 30 days. I was told that I could only have three or four injections a year, so I stopped after the first and just tolerated the pain. Sometimes I’d sit on ice packs to numb it. I was hopeless to say the least, until I was introduced to Align!

Coming to Align

That was a great moment! My niece sent me a text about Align having a free workshop on pain. A friend of mine was also having back issues, and her doctor told her he couldn’t do anything more to help her either. We were both hopeless. I invited her to go with me. We both attended the workshop and signed up for consultations. The rest is history!

First Impression

I honestly never would have thought that Align’s exercise methods would help me, but I was dead wrong! I’m so happy that I didn’t give up and let Align help me over time. Align has tremendously helped relieve my pain and discomfort through exercise.

Life Now

Although it’s taken time and energy to get where I am now, it’s been a journey well worth every day that I showed up. At 82, I feel like a new person! Well, almost new. Align has changed my life tremendously through exercise.

Pass It On: What would you say to someone who is considering starting their Align journey?

Anytime I hear someone complaining about pain, I mention how Align has helped me and encourage them to check it out. They helped me and I know they can help others! At 82 years old (older than dirt!), I need to be independent and delay assisted living as long as possible. Align has helped me do that and I’m so grateful.
